word 2000 - delete extra page

You don't mention if this extra page appears when you open Word. If so, it would appear that the template (Normal.dot) is the culprit. Go in and check the template and, if an extra page is found, delete it there. Or, more easily, just delete this file. A new template will be created the next time you open Word.
