Word 2000 crash on startup

Word 2000 keeps crashing when I start it up. It comes up with winword.exe caused a general fault on stratup and will now terminate.
I have repaired the installation and also reinstalled. I have also applied Sp2 for office still have the same problem though

Rename the normal.dot file on your hard drive to abnormal.dot and relaunch Word.

If that doesn't work, find the STARTUP folder under the Office folders on your PC. Anything sitting in that startup folder? If so, you can remove it temporarily and see if the problem goes away.
