Word 2000 Closes when loading

Hi.
I have the following, i guess maybe a virus efect, but not sure yet. When opens Word 2000 shows its window but inmediatly Words closes. When open Excel in the same user profile (under XP Prof) it remains working. I have reinstalled all office premium but the problem stills.. Do anyone know how to resolve this?

Howdy

Firstly, try searching for and deleting the file(s) 'Normal.dot' (without the quotes). This file is the default template Word loads which could be at fault. It is perfectly safe to delete as, if Word can't find it, it will make a fresh one.

If this doesn't work, try clicking on 'Start', then 'Run' and type in 'Winword /a' (again, without the quotes). This should reset Word.
