Any assistance that could be applied to the following problem would be greatly appreciated. We have tried several VBA approaches but have not been successful todate.

The requirement is to copy selected text from one document to another that is open in Word document which is generated by a management database system. The text in each section is indentified by a Text Label

In Document 1

Urgent Contact Information

John Smith
5 Brown St.
Dudson SW3 T56

Specimen Type

GHR/7654

Clinical Details

This a sample from a 35 year old male

Frozen Section

This is a frozen section

Macro Desc\PM Findings

No architectural distortion or shin thickening

In Document 2

Document 2 has pre formatted fields with the above Text labels. We need to be able to copy from Document 1 the appropriate paragraphs / text in that section and insert them in the corresponding field labels. There could be more than one paragraph in Clinical Details Macro Desc\PM Findings

Many thanks in anticipation

Regards

Howard

Hi,

Does doc 2 have all the headings that are in doc 1?

Skip,

for a NUANCE![tongue]

If you only have text to go on for identification it's a little bit of a chore - look for start delimiter and remember end position, look for end delimiter and remember start position, copy text, repeat. Could you be more precise about what you have - what do you mean by field labels, for example? Does document 2 need, ultimately, to look like document 1? If not, how does it differ?

Enjoy,
Tony
