I have created a shockwave movie that loads 5 frames prior to running on my web. When I go to my web it starts the Macromedia Icon and seems to pause and show none of my movie. At the end of the movie I have a jump to URL inserted which loads another of my pages. Any help please. It takes me 12 minutes to upload new versions and I have tried half a dozen times in different formats to no avail.

Could you be more specific? It might sound stupid (I've done it a million times) but make sure the following is correct: Make sure you're using a preloader, and make sure that preloader tells the movie what to do (i.e., go to frame 6). Also, make sure you're uploading the right file. 12 minutes is a long time, which leads me to believe the whole thing is humongous. This could cause browser crashes anyway.

Thanks for the message. This is the first time that I have tried director. When you say preloader do you mean <Modify Movie><Playback> and then state which frame to load to before playing?

Also I have taken your advice and will try to scale down.

Frankly, that only works so well (I've never been able to figure it out). What you need to do is create a little something at the beginning of the movie which gives the web viewer something to do while they wait for the site to load. Then create a loop which looks something like this

(Sorry, this is not exact Lingo, but reads something like this:)

If medianinframe 50 = ready
go to and play 5
else
go to the frame
end

This will set up a conditional loop. Sorry I don't have a free moment to figure out the exact Lingo. I work in Flash a lot too and the dialects are very similar to each other, but this is definately the gist of what you need to make director do.
