Ok...

I am running windows 2000
Mobo: k7vmm+

I have flashed the motherboard with the latest update, have downloaded the latest drivers for the via, graphics card, and have the latest drivers off the linksys web site.

I also unplugged my sound card in case of a conflict.

When I run the software and then reboot, I plug in the card and then boot up. When I goto install the driver, the PC freezes. I have to shut down, uninstall the card, then reboot. Then the PC will actually boot, otherwise it will hang at the login screen.

Once rebooted I have tried multiple things. I uninstalled the software and manually deleted the drivers it attempted ot install. I tried to reboot again and install the card only to have it freeze.

No matter what, my PC will NOT take the drivers for this card.

Any ideas?

In BIOS enable Bus Master features on the PCI slot the board will be inserted.

But if I were you I would return it for the USB adapter.

bcastner, that was the best advice. I took it and got th usb wireless. It took me 5-10 seconds to install. It is workign great.

Thanks!! :)

If for no other reason, the WMP (and all adapter board wireless NICs) suffer from their location behind a huge chunk of metal that is the computer itself. By using the USB adapter you can move it around to maximize signal strength and reduce noise. Every site suffers from multipath (the signal bounces around from multiple reflectors before hitting your antenna) and it can be your friend in wireless settings. But the limited ability to orient an adapter based wireless card is a serios disadvantage to using that approach if USB alternatives exist.
