My Windows Media Player, using XP, takes for-freakin-ever to copy a CD onto the hard drive in MP3 format. I recently upgraded to WMP 9.0, and this didn't help the situation. Often, I can copy from one CD, but the second one I do takes as much as two hours to copy a normal audio CD. If I restart, I can usually get one normal-speed copy, then the second copy is again in frustrating super-slo mo. Playing a CD while a super-slow copy is going on results in jerky, on-again, off-again audio.
Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks!
