WMI and Exchange 2000

Exchange 2000 SP3 Im new to exchange and am trying to get WMI tools working to view the exchange stats. WMI gives stats for Windows 2000 Server (also sp3) but when trying to access the WMI stats for Exchange I get the following error:

WMI: Provider is not capable of the attempted operation.
Cannot get object \\.........
