WMF to Adobe photoshop acceptable image extension

Hey there,

I bought a cd with clipart on it, but I have to manipulate the clipart. I know that Adobe Photoshop is a good program so I bought version 7. The problem is, the clipart is in .wmf format, and I cannot open that format in Photoshop. Even if I do eventually get the image open, the integrity is completly lost!

How do I open a .wmf file in Adoby Photoshop 7 without losing the image quality?

WMF is a Windows Metafile, and as such is a vector image like Illustrator, which PS can open although it needs to rasterise it first (convert to pixels). I just tried opening a WMF in PS, and you're right, PS does not recognise the WMF format. I can open them in Illustrator or Coreldraw. Do you have access to either of these?

The only sucessfull way I have found to do this is to insert the image in either a word or powerpoint document, Then use the old fashioned cut and paste method, however you will lose some resolution, but if you are using clipart I guess this does not matter

is a real nice tool ! I had installed Illustrator but the license for it is far too expensive for our needs, which are just wmf file converts, so ..
