WLBS and slow internet access

I'm stumped with this problem. I have two servers which are loadbalanced. I get no errors on boot up. MY only problem is that internet access from the servers out to the internet is painfully slow. The servers are load balanced with one nic each - is this the reason why the access is so slow?
