Greetings.....attempting to add new 6120 device to CS1k with latest release. Currently we use 2212 devices and since they were built before my time, I never learned how to "marry" the TN in PBX to a specific handset.

I've configured handset copying existing 2212 (actually used existing IP address of a spare set until I get new) and also built new TN in PBX. How do they talk to one another?

I've read of MAC address and node although I don't see anywhere to enter these on 6120.

Thanks for help as always!

In our scenario, (if I remember correctly) the wireless phone (Nortel/Polycom Model 6140 - emulating Nortel 2210 phone) communicates with our Cisco WAPs, gets DHCP assignment "Set IP address" from the DHCP server to communicate across the LAN and is then directed to the Nortel 2245 wireless LAN controller where it gets an "Alias IP address" from its scope of addresses and then registers with the signaling server. While the phone is registering and booting up, it will eventually ask for the CS1000E Node and TN. We manually enter the Node and TN information unless it had one assigned previously, then we over write the old information with the new TN. Is this what you were referring to?

Funk49, at this point the phone just says "No Net Found- No APS". I'm never prompted for the node, TN information.
I have since been given new IP addresses, but still no change.

Thanks!

The 6120 needs to be configured to work on your WLAN network. The easiest way to do this is with the phone in the dual-battery charger connected via USB to a PC running HAT software.

Thanks gwebster, attempts to get the cradle to work have been futile....problem with USB drivers.
Is it possible to configure without?

No, I'm pretty sure you have configure your specific network settings and 802.11a channels availability and power settings via the HAT software and the USB cradle.
My USB cradle is very finicky, I have to keep re-seating it in order for it to be recognized and connect otherwise it goes right into powering the phone up.

It was tedious process but now have both older 2210 cradle and new cradle connected and able to use editor.
I thought I could save parameters from older 2212 and then load onto new device. It seemed to work, a couple parameters would not copy and I don't see WEP key info.

Right now the new 6120 handset reads no SVP response. Is there any updates needed for the 2245 Telephony Manager to be compatible with new handset?

I returned to Avaya website and found latest firmware for 6120 handset. I loaded the individual bin files on the handset, copied parameters form 2212 phone as before and now 6120 handset reads No AVPP response, followed by TM2245 IP address.

Is AVPP the new acronym for 2245?

I noticed that the WEP key info doesn't transfer either....is there a way around this? Where could I procur the WEP key other than from the 2212 handset?

Thanks!
