My customer has a BCM 400 4.0 and they have the IP Telephony Manager with wireless handsets. They just transitioned to a new owner. The company that took care of their phone systems before did not pass on IP addresses and passwords to the BCM's or the Telephony Managers. We have a company we use for tech support and they have never dealt with the wireless handsets and neither have we. Apparently they worked for a few weeks after the takeover but then stopped. I need to know how to troubleshoot this and get those handsets back up and running. Anyone who has had experience with these and could lend a hand would be great. There is a serial port on the front. I just need to know how to connect to it and maybe pull the IP address off or change the IP address.

ur hooped without a pswd. Contact previous company to have them give u pswd or come out and reset it to default.

It has not been working and the IP Telephony manager has the error led red. How would I default the 2245? and then how would I give it a new IP address? Their BCM tray went bad so i just replaced that and got a new IP address from their help desk and they gave me one for the 2245. Thanks for your response.

There is a password reset procedure for the 2245. See below:

To login into the SVP server, if your password is forgotten;
a. Connect your terminal to the RS-232 port using a null-modem cable. Open a terminal emulation program, such as HyperTerminal TM, in order to communicate with the gateway.
b. Power cycle the SVP server.
c. When the login: prompt appears, within 60 seconds, enter the login maint, and press Enter.
d. The slnk > prompt should appear.
e. Type password admin and press Enter.
f. The system should inform you that your password has been changed back to admin.
g. When the slnk > prompt reappears, type exit, and press Enter.
h. You should now be able to login as normal.
