Hello,
This is our first IPO system, e have 30 some odd Magix r4 systems in production, but have found IP to be cheaper. I am testing out a base system, IP403 w/ PRI module, and a DS16 exp unit.

In the Wizard, whenever I save, it tells me the daughter cards do not match and it cannot save the config. I assume this is why the two 5410 phones say System Incompatiblity; but being my first try at this, who knows.

Any help, advice?

I agree with crashtest. Use the manager application to upgrade it (file/advanced/upgrade)

A word of caution is in order here since this is your first IPO. I see that you have a 403. You need to upgrade it in two stages - first to 2.99, then to 3.0.40

If you look in the folder "Program files/Avaya/IP Office/Manager" you will see a folder named IP403V2_99. Copy the .bin file from there into the main Manager folder, then go to the upgrade wizard in Manager (mentioned above) and you will have the option to upgrade to 2.99. Do so, then go to the folder "Avaya/IP Office/Manager/IP403V3" and copy THAT .bin file into the main manager folder. Now go through your upgrade procedure again, this time noticing that you are upgrading to R3.0.40

Morrack, i read your post too late, as I saw earlier that I had to upgrade. What do I do now that the system is not connectable? Red status light is on, all ports are lit up. And I do not know the type of cable needed to connect through DTE.

Thank you vary vary much. I know after doing one fo these I will love this system.

Michael

hehehehe. We've all done it my friend, not to worry. You need to wipe it clean via the DTE port. See IPGuru's FAQ on the subject here in this forum it explains everything you need clearly.

Because your system is locked up, I suspect it was running 1.x firmware not 2.x firmware before you attempted to upgrade to R3. Be sure to restore it to, say, 1.4 and then start upgrading from there - you will have to do a THREE stage upgrade. Use the same procedure I gave you above, but FIRST take it to 1.99, then 2.99, then 3.0.40

Since this is a new system you're building once you have done the above I would do a default config and start fresh. To preserve an existing config you would want to upgrade to each of the major releases along the way :)
