With Excel and Word I need Templetes Dialog box to open!!!

When Selecting File, and then new in either word or excel, I need it to open the Dialog box with the templates in it, instead of opening it as a Task bar on the side of the screen. Is this possible??? If so how. Thanks in advance everyone!!!.

Change the file locations
