With a split DB, is it bad to keep the front-end on the server?

I am building an app (which is split), previously I have loaded the front end objects on the users local drive with the back end on the shared drive.
My new group has several people in India...would it be bad to put the front end on the server as well? Deploying the front end when there are changes in India will be a PIA.

Yes, it is a bad idea. It basically defeats the purpose of splitting a database, because now you are pulling all those objects (forms, reports, etc) over the network. In my experience this tends to lead quickly to corrupted databases as well. Figure out a better way to deploy the front end to the local users. There are several FAQs on automating the deployment process.
