Hi,
Im new to Linux and today installed Ubuntu onto my Dell laptop. Everything went incredibly smoothly but I cant get my Belking 54G (F5D7010 Broadcom Chipset) wireless PCMCIA card to work. I have found I have to use ndiswrapper and have installed the latest version and followed the instructions. It gets to the point where I have successfully installed the cards drivers by doing typing:
sudo ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5.inf
Which when I do a ndiswrapper -l command it says:
bcmwl5 driver present, hardware present
But then doing the next command:
sudo iwlist wlan0 scan
I receive the following:
wlan0 Interface doesn't support scanning.
And all the instructions I can find say it should be working now and nothing about this error message.
Any help would be great!
David
