Hi,
We have buildings with mixtures of cat3 & 5 fed mainly to perimiter trunking & some permanent columns.
We manage these RJ45 outlets which go back to 110 patching panels very manually. Excell spreadsheet databases.

I'm interestd in hearing from companies with sizeable installations who have managed solutions. With the ability to overlay outlet points onto CAD drawings for use in office moves. Applications that manage the wiring, creating patching schedules for the patchers. In essence make the MAC process a computised process. Allocating patching & outlet details without getting up from the desk.
We rely on a very manual process currently & want to get an outside view on whether the work involved in collating all our patching & outlets into an application is worth the effort. Will a new application offer enough benefits.

I'd appreciate your views, experiences !!

We're currently installing the Planet software. That alone has been a daunting task. Should be very nice to use once it's in.

DocIT from Tempo/Textron is a nice one for smaller infratructures.
