i am trying to setup a cap with a 7430 set and cant find anything in the book about wiring the cap after the system was turned off then back on now when you press feature *0 then the caps buttons they all say the same ext. 244 does anyone have the time to tell me where the connections are and how to set it up. ive looked through the manual this weekend and am pulling out my hair. thanks in advance for any and all help you can give me.

When you say turned off- do you mean moved? I'm also guessing you mean a m7324? The second pair of the CAP needs a power supply (pines 3 and 6) - It is a small transformer and it could be in the phone room.

Just re-read your post. If you are getting the cap buttons to display ext244, then it is wired. You just need to program the buttons.-
feat*2 then the ext. number

I don't know whats going on but there is no way all buttons can read the same ext. You would have to assign 48 intercoms to the station...I would check for a stuck intercom button....

What silver said is true. Is the phone working? Maybe you have the pairs (power and ext.) reversed. - though I dont know if that would cause your described problem.
