Wireshark DHCP Option 242 2

Hi

Does anybody know why Wireshark is reporting Unknown Avaya IP Telephone parameter

Are those parameters actually needed with IPO 11.1? I have 9640G (H323) and J179 Phones(SIP).

Yes these may be needed. they push info from the DHCP server out to the phones like call server VLAN-id and things like that.

They are only unknown to wireshark...but the phones know exactly what they are for.
MCPORT is the signaling port - used by H323 phones.
SIP_CONTROLLER_LIST is for the...well...sip controller (your IPO) used by J phones.
