Does anyone know of a product that will allow connecting two switches together via wireless T1 or PRI?

I know there are some good products out there for ethernet wirless that are going cheap!

I have two sites within a half mile of each other that wants to get away from high telco costs. The one site has 2 T1's into it and the other many POTS lines. Trying to share resources between the sites.

No fiber connection and not feasible at this time. Dedicated T1 from Ma bell is pricey!

Any ideas would help!

Given the distance, have you looked into microwave?

Speaking of microwave, checkout the Lynx line of spread spectrum microwave products from Proxim.com, I used one of the early Lynx units back in 1994. It worked very well. This setup only provided a single point-to-point T1. The main thing was it did NOT need any licensing from the FCC. The newer models now have capacity up to the DS3 level. But you still need to know how to set one up! If not and you decide this is the way to go find an RF or radio person that knows point-to-point transmission systems otherwise you could have problems, etc.

all rf/microwave systems are usually line of site, if a bird of seagull size happens by it may cause problems momentarily. Too bad you couldn't run fiber between the sites, then you could either setup one end a s epn or dcs using fiber modems.

I've also heard that microwaves will hard-boil your eyes if you fly thru them in an airplane. :)

franke,

I'll remember that one the next time I'm on Mt. Wilson. Lots of microwave and RF on that mountain!

All the microwave I have been envolved with over the years, never had a problem with birds. At that time we used Farinon and Collins stuff. It was nice to be able to do things and not have Telco in the way! No monthly charges for the service, but we still had electric bills.
