Hi:

We run a small warehouse and are in the planning stages of implementing bar coding the inventory. We have our warehouse data housed in SQL Server 2000. We are looking for a wireless solution for counting inventory, inventory moves, and inventory check-in. So far we have narrowed it down to two Symbol Scanners. The SPT 1846 or the PPT 2846. We do not have a wireless lan in place, but do have an intranet web server that could connect to the SQL server for data entry.

I'm looking for a recommendation on the scanner. Can the PPT simply browse a web page and do data entry or is it best to write an app to interface with the SQL Server? Or is the Palm OS the better way to go?

Any help is appreciated.
