OK, i have a home network using a netgaer MR814v2 Wireless cable router, to which my cable modem is connected.
i have 2 pc's connected to the router via cat 5 cable (no problems with these 2pc's, can file share connect to internet etc)

i have 1 pc connected via a netgear wireless card.
the wireless pc detects the network (SSID, Channel, Key, the whole lot), and shows it's connected on the pc's end, and if i rescan for the network, it finds it and connects, but cannot fileshare, connect to internet, browse network etc.

On the router however when i click on attached devices, the wireless pc is not connected, and if i rescan, cannot be found.

I HAVE had this network working fine before, this just happened all of a sudden when i changed the SSID (changed on both ends) all the other settings look correct, and i updated my routers firmware after the problem started, still nothing.

any assistance would be great.

hi i have seen this before with netgear..check ip address on wirless client see it is being given by router..
if not use the software provided with the card..not the xp settings.. if that solves it look back at a few weeks to the subject of xp patch good reading
