Wireless Provider speeds?

Hi.

I just bought a Dell 8600 (XP pro) and was looking for opinions on the various wireless internet providers (Verizon, T-Mobile, etc). All of them seem to connect at crappy dial-up speeds. Is there anything better out there? I don't live in a big city, and the only wireless networks my 802.11 b\g can grab onto are limited to a local University's campus.
