Hi,
We have a Cisco Aironet 100 Series WAP. Our signal on it, is very very week. We are in a brick building, but the walls inside are just sheetrock. We have one client that is about 5 feet away, new wireless card and it drops off a lot. Most everyone else in the office, the wireless is slow and not very reliable. Finally, we have a client downstairs, and our floor is made out of just wood, and they can pick up our signal, but it is reall unreliable. I had to stick another AP down there, a Linksys, and one computer out of 3 downstairs, drops off the same way. She is only 6 feet from it, and it her computer shows low signal. Any ideas. We paid all kinds of money for the Cisco one and we get 2 feet from it and it doesnt work. Our network admin, has a Dell Lat. 800 laptop with wireless built in and he has no troubles. He transmits at about 10Mbps normally when copying files. Everyone else has brand new wireless cards also, and large antennas. Please help.
