Hi we have a draytek ADSL modem router in one building and three PC's in two other buildings around 10-20m away. The signal strength shows as excellent on one machine and very good on the other two (using DLink G650+ cards).

Initially a problem occurred most mornings on start up of the PC's as they were unable to find a connection.

The draytek antenna's were replaced for 5dbi as were the DLink cards and the Draytek router was taken upstairs to give a better spread - this seemed to fix the problem.

But now the signal appears to disappear every now and again - all times of the day. Turning the draytek router off and on (sometimes needs doing twice) seems to fix it, but can anyone explain what might be happening.

Many thanks in advance...

try to update the drivers of the NIC's. I've seen that solving similar problems.

CCNA, CCNP..partly ;)
