Hi All.

I have an issue where a customer wants a wireless phone to ring when someone calls in on a c.o. line.
The phone has been added to the group of the other phones that ring when a central office line is called, but when someone calls the telephone number, not extension number, the phone doesn't ring.

If you call the group the wireless phone is in, it rings right along with the other phones set to ring in the group they are in (i.e. 601).
Call the telephone number (123-456-7890... number changed to protect the stupid), the other phones ring just fine, but not the wireless phone.

I remember, vaguely, that the lines could be put on the phone, but for the life of me, I can't remember how, or going through my panasonic documentation, don't see it anywhere. The phone is a kx-tca385.

Does anyone know how to do this, or have a link to a document that tell you how to do it?

Regards

So... you are wanting the system to ring extensions on the system via a Ring Group, along with a telephone NOT on the system?

Hi Prof Shadow.

The cordless phone is an extension on the system.

I would like, when a call comes in on a telephone number that the other two phones are in, all three phones ring. The two reception phones, and the cordless (DECT) phone.

Regards

Of all the varieties of Panasonic systems out there...which model KSU do you have?

HI Prof.

The KSU for this unit is an NS-1000.

If when you call 601 the cordless rings, I would suggest the line isn't routing to group 601.

You can check this by ringing in and on a display phone that is ringing you can toggle the display which will indicate the floating number that has been called.

Hi All.

There is another solution to this problem, which will solve my problem.
You can pair a wireless phone to an extension.

To do this, do the following:

Go to
Extension -> Wireless Extension -> Extension Setting -> Option 1
In the field marked
Wireless XDP / Shared Extension

Put the wireless extension you want to pair with the extension you require.

Will require testing to confirm but it has worked other places.
