Hi

I have 2 PCs running XP Pro with SP2.
I have installed a Linksys USB wireless nic on both PCs and the 2 nics have established a connection but my problem is that dispite both nics having a auto assigned ip address, ip traffic will not flow accross the link. A ping request results in request timed out. (I have disabled the Windows Firewall.)
Thanks
Paulreg

Uninstall the devices if they were added prior to the upgrade to SP2.

Look in Control Panel for the new Wirelss Setup Wizard.

Try puting a static ip and make sure they are on the same subnet. Example computer 1 192.168.0.2 subnet 255.255.255.0, Computer 2 192.168.0.3 subnet 255.255.255.0 and then from computer two try ping the ip for computer 1.

I 've tried the Wireless Setup Wizard but before I try anything else I'm having the kit brought to my office rather than trying to solve the problem remotely. Thanks for the tips, I'll report back when I've got the PCs where I can kick them !
