I'm seriously thinking about purchasing a Sony Clie peg-ux50 PDA. I really like its power and the attractive wireless options. I currently have a Microsoft wireless g network. Does anyone here use a Sony ux50 with your wireless net, or any wireless b capable PDA with a MS network?

Any problems or concerns with the MS net and using a wireless PDA? Thanks

I supported Palm-based wireless devices for a while, and test them now. In my experience (with PalmOne and AlphaSmart devices) things work pretty smoothly. Minor issues are generally smoothed out with a configuration change, or a simple router/access point firmware upgrade (free from the manufacturer).

-The Microsoft wireless hardware I've worked with has been extremely solid (better than much of the Linksys stuff I've supported...)

-Wireless Hotsyncing with Windows is fairly easy to setup, and seems to work pretty solid once up and running from what I've experienced and seen (we're certainly here to help if you have trouble).

-The 802.11b/g devices I've worked with have generally played well together. You'll want to pay attention (while shopping) to the types of security supported by the various devices (for example, Apple Airports only support Shared encryption, while many cards, etc, only support Open key).

-Some 802.11g routers have an option to run in b-only mode, g-only mode, and b/g-mode. Since none of the currently shipping Palm handhelds support g you'll want to make sure b is enabled on your router (b/g is usually default).

This is probably more than you wanted anyone to say, but I hope it helps :)

Good luck!
