I was wondering if it is okay to pull out a wireless pcmia card with my laptop on? and can I put the card in when the laptop is on? I have a ibm thinkpad and a smc wireless PCMIA card.

Thanks for any info.

Use the "Unplug or eject Hardware" icon on the taskbar to stop the card. When it's ready, you get a pop-up box saying it's OK to remove the card.

Beware, when you plug it back in, it may not connect to network resources properly, and you may need to log off/log on to re-estabilsh the connections.

Also, if you plug it into a different PCMCIA slot, it may load another set of drivers. It depends on the hardware detection, and the internal driver setup.

My laptop has windows Xp on it, but when i right click on the Safely Remove Hardware Icon my pcmia card does not show up in the list just my CD/RW drive shows up. Is there some place else I should look?

Thanks
