My company is about to move in a few months and my BOSS wants to know if it is possible to add a wireless card to all our computers (~200) and save on wiring the new location.

Technically I know it’s possible however would you recommend an entire office of 200 computers and 12 servers to go completely wireless?

There is no technical barrier; there are college and corporate campuses with 50x that number in place.

My concern would be slightly different:

. I honestly believe cable would be cheaper. I have no idea what is involved in your move, but the cabling costs should be incorporated in the build-out allowance granted by the new landlord.

. It most certainly would be faster.

Wireless is nice, but not to be overused.

As Bcastner had stated cable is faster and probably would be cheaper [If the new location isn't walled in yet]

You also ahve to worry about security issues, which isn't too big a deal but why bother with wireless desktops? Are you really going to take them out to lunch with you? :)
