wireless network setup first timer

Hi all, I have never setup a wireless network before because I feel it is too unsecure. So here I am late in the game. I thought it would be easy

So I connected the linksys wireless router to a cable modem. I got 1 host laptop wired to the router and 1 wireless laptop trying to get the internet.

The internet is working on the host fine, and the wireless laptop connects the wireless network, but no sites are resolving.

Any suggestions?

Often a firewall problem can cause you grief, see if these sites are useful?
