I have to PC running at home on a wireless network. The main pc is physically connected to the printer. My second pc will not print to the host pc. I on the host pc I have checked "share files and printer" but still nothing. Do I need to reinstall the printer drivers but for network printer? Should I be on the look out for anything in particular?

right-click the printer in Printers and Faxes, properties, Security, and check that you have given permission to the Guest Account and to the Everyone Group.

You should add the wireless client as a user on the host machine, and vice-versa, or enable the Guest account.

On the server machine (the one with the printer attached)
Start-Settings-Printers
Right-click on the printer
Choose "Sharing"
Click Share As... and give it a name
Click OK

then from the slave system,
Start-Settings-Printers
Click "Add Printer"
Choose "Network Printer"
put in printer as \\servername\printersharename
Answer about default printer if you want it to be.

where servername is the name of the sys with the printer attached
and printersharename is the name you gave it under Sharing

BTW, I was assuming that you can see the server's hard drive from the slave PC. if not, are you sure your wireless network is working properly?

Setting for "Ad Hoc" or "Infrastructure" mode has to be correct, SSID, WAP, etc.

Thanks for the tip. The host pc can see the server hd just fine. The server can see the host pc too. I will try these setting and update you all later. Thanks again.

For every problem there is a solution, for every solution there is a tech behind it.
