Hi

I have a wireless network setup -
D-Link DWL-1000AP access point and D-Link DWL-610 PCMCIA Card.
I've followed all the instructions and it connected to the access point without problem, but will not receive any data?
I can't ping the access point either, times out?

It works fine with my other PCMCIA Card 'Safecom SWLCR-1100', but I want to see if I get a better connection using the D-Link one as the Safecom keeps cutting out, a real pain when your trying to do a download!

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Many thanks, Craig.

Hi

Did you use MAC filtering?
Are you sure the PCMIA card is connecting to your network and not others?
Can you access the configuration page using the PCMIA card?

Hi

Yes I'm using MAC filtering, just double checked MAC address on Access Point is correct.
I can see my wireless connection in the 'Wireless Network Connection 5 Status'window, says connection Status: Connected.
But in the Activity section lots of Packets sent, but none Received?

Can't get anything through, tried 192.168.1.11, which is my wireless Access Point address, no page found there, try it with my wired connection and it loads the D-Link Access Point config page!

If I pull the D-Link card out and pop in the Safecom one, connection to the internet straight away.
It's got me completely stumped!

Any ideas, any one?

Cheers, Craig.

What is the TX rate of your router?
Is it set at 1-2-5.5-11-22(Mbps)?
Maybe you want to try to set it at 1-2-5.5-11(Mbps).

Hi

Thanks LSTAN

Not quite sure why it has now worked, but I just reset my Authentication settings and re-entered the password and we are now in business.

Though, this does not make sense, as the Safecom card worked without problem with the same settings.
Maybe something to do with the D-Link Utility software?

Thanks again for your help and suggestions.

Craig.
