I am thinking of buying a Mac. It would either be a G3 or G4.

I just want a second computer to browse the web , but i would like to run OSX and have it on wireless network connection.

What are the problems that i will have to tackle?

I have a maximum of £450 to spend on everything..

I think your biggest problem will be finding a mac with OSX for £450! The mac will need airport (WiFi).

You will need a wireless router or a router with a wireless access point connected. A router will cost about £140 depending on wht you require of it (firewall, modem, router, switch, speed (b or g)).

No other problems.

is a $27 USD PCMCIA card for older mac laptops (£15.9 GBP)

Lombard and Pismo are the only G3 Powerbooks on that list I would try to run OSX on

I found Pismo's selling on ebay for as little as $400 USD (£235 GBP) so a pismo, OSX, a network card and a wireless router is doable for your price.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

You don't have to use Airport cards either, Belkin makes a card that is much cheaper.

Hi again.

I have found a new Emac for £550 so i might aswell buy that.

The question now is that will the Airport card pick up my wireless LinkSys router which will be connected into my broadband modem????? I am hoping to get a G network aswell.

Will this mean that i will be able to swop files from my pc to the mac?

I cannot find a Belkin card by the way..

Thanks for your help so far though.

Airport should be able to pick-up the router. Yes, you will be able to swap the files.
