Hi,

Does anyone know how can I get a NM-WMDA module to work. I looked on the cisco website and it mentioned that I need a third party external power injector. I tried goggle and ebay, and cannot find any for this specific module. Do I have to invest a lot to get it to work?

Yes you will need a power injector.. This is going to be more of a CCNP toy... You will have to spend a little... I don't know if this is what you have read but here is a link explaining what you will need to do!

There is a note on this page:
"Note The antenna, wireless transverter, and power injector are third-party products. For further information about these components, see the manufacturer's documentation."

Also.. You may want to email the guy you bought those from and ask him if he can hook you up with a copy of that (RSU) Microcode Bundle as you will need that later when you install these! Don't give up on it! This is a test.. don't give in.. Challenge yourself to figure this out!

Umm..RSU Microcode Bundle...Need to find more info on that.

GottaBeKiN,

Maczen makes a good point - learn from it but do not spin your wheels - the trouble with Cisco is that you have so much to know - sometimes you need to wrap your head with duct tape so it does not explode!!!

Take the cards - put them in a static bag, print the docs that you found on them and then put it all in a box and mark it for later use :)

Trust me as you read your CCNA stuff you are going to want to keep investigating more and more - if you are NOT interested - you might be in the wrong area :-(

As I always told my students - the routers, switches, IOS etc that they are using ---- is ALL THE SAME as what the CCIEs play with - they just KNOW IT ALL :) Cisco does not make seperate routers and IOS for CCNAs :)

You can not learn it ALL (right away) if you could and did - you should be testing for CCIE!

Get your CCNA rack together and get back on the Sybex book, if you have not already done so download the FREE PDF lab book that I posted about and start working through those CCNA labs - get your fundamentals down and get the CCNA behind you!

Try not to drift too much - CCNA is more then enough to know as it is - I have seen some very bright students fail the CCNA several times because they were distracted by EVERYTHING else!

Good luck!

Thanks CiscoGuy,

You are right I should focus on the CCNA test for now. Need to learn to walk be I learn to run. I already downloaded and printed the free lab book last week, thanks for the upload.

Sound advice CiscoGuy!
I am one of those guys that gets distracted by everything!!! LoL Bought two Extreme Networks Summit Layer 3 Switches today!!! Guy has several more but watch the shipping... It's only free if you pick up! Still a good deal though! He replaced his businesses setup with Cisco and has an awesome Network right now! Talked to him for about thirty minutes (He has CCNA/CCVP) and said that there is a plethora of techie jobs out there for CCNP's!!! Made my day!!! Also said that he hated stupid Summit switches but they will do what I want them to! LoL... One is a 15000 48 port and the other is a 13xxx.. Can't remember off of the top of my head... Cost me about $120 w/ shipping!!!

OK.. back to the thread... Wanted to tell Kin one more thing!!! Check out CBTNuggets.com and take a look at Jeremy Ciaora's (Not sure of spelling)CCNA video's!!! They are awesome and well worth the money!!! Will REALLY help you grasp some of the more complicated topics like ACL's, NAT/PAT, Inter-VLAN Routing ETC. I highly recommend!

PS. Don't forget about the anti-static for those cards... Comes with a lot of the stuff that you buy on eBay so you should come across some! Later!!!
