Wireless Laptops Don't See Wired Desktop 2

I have two wireless laptops connecting through a WRT54G to a wired desktop. I am trying to set up simple file sharing, but am having problems. The desktop can see the laptops, and the laptops can see each other, but neither laptop can see the desktop. I tried pinging, and got the correlated responses- the desktop pings the laptops, and the laptops ping each other, but neither laptop pings the desktop. (desktop- 192.168.1.100, laptops 192.168.1.101 and .102).

I checked many threads, with little help. I do have Internet Connection Firewall option disabled on the desktop.

I'm new to networking, and assuming I'm doing something naive, but as such, I'm stumped.

make sure the laptop cards are in infrastructure mode, not AP (access point) mode. See if that helps.

Thanks for the thought, but yes, I've already got it set to infrastructure mode... any other guesses?

What OS is installed on the laptops?

Do you have any other firewalls (like Zonealarm or BlackIce) installed on the desktop?

Watch out for 'hidden' firewalls in antivirus programs. PC-Illan, as one example, installs a firewall component by default that would lead to the behavior you described.

I knew it was something simple- should have asked you guys a while ago. I'm running McAfee Security Center, with it's personal firewall, and of course I didn't think to look and see if it was blocking my LAN, which of course it was. Two minutes later, I am in business.
