This is my question. Is there such thing as a wireless switch or hub?

I am really trying to avoid buying a switch and an access point and just sticking the access point into the switch.

Unless adding a wireless router to an existing network would work.
How would that work?

I am not dealing with anything complex like cisco devices. Just those basic SMC/Linksys type routers.

Also if this is not the correct forum, please direct me to the correct forum.

A wireless Access-Point really is just a hub/bridge anyway, and there's no prob with mixing wired and wireless. In fact the most common implementation is a mixture of the two, with AP's having one interface on the wired side of the network, and one interface on the wireless.
If you've already got a hub/switch with spare ports, then just patch the AP in there.
