Hello,

I have a user with a wireless keyboard. The keyboard was working up until a week or two ago. Then the keyboard/computer communication was delayed. I figured it was the batteries dying (she's used the same batteries for over a year) and so I told her to change them out.
Since she's changed them out, the keyboard and computer communication is nil. It's a Belkin Wireless keyboard.
I did go to Belkin's web site and they showed the reset button on the antennae and the keyboard. I pressed both of those but they didn't help at all.

Is there another work around or a lesser headache of just buying a new one?

Thanks!
Jenney

Yes, we did check that. We even placed in the old batteries thinking maybe it there was something wrong with the new ones and it still didn't work.

As bcastner said, make sure batteries are in correct position.
Sometimes you have to make sure the battery connection to the metal is good. I know with my tv remote i had to put some aluminum foil at the connector as the spring got weak and i had no connection.
Also, sometimes you have to press both buttons at the same time on the keyboard and the antenna to get it to work.

Good advice + great people = tek-tips

I hope you realize I was not treating you as a dummy; I regularly put in batteries backwards and every other combination other than the right one.

I would check the USB connection for the "antenna" and make sure it is plugged in well.

Then do the reset on the antenna. (On mine a light starts flashing). Then push the reset button on the keyboard. Watch the antenna light, it should go out or stay steady.

Hi Bcastner,

NO! Don't worry about it! I've been in support long enough to know that something so simple can resolve a lot of things! Plus the first steps are to exhaust the easiest stuff!

Hmmm...I'll try some of these suggestions and report back! Thanks!

Did someone hit the channel switch when changing batteries?
