I plan on starting a wireless ISP in a small town. I have read up on wireless for months now, and believe it is the way to go.
I'm looking at using a Proxim Tsunami 20mb/s BSU, hooked to a server.
I will be branching off of a Fiber-optic line.
Are there any recommendations on server, antennas etc?
Am I going the right route? and what else would I need?

Thanks
Nick

A lot could depend on where you are.
If in the US, make sure you know how to stay in compliance
with the FCC regs. although no license is required, there are still rules which must be followed. One of the most interesting having to do with antennas and the difference in effective radiated power allowed depends on if it is a directional or omni antenna. So you will also have to know how to calculate the ERP.

You must visit the Wireless Internet Providers site her:
Select Forums,
Then select Wireless Internet Providers.

You would benefit from reading the last several months of posts.

These guys have been there and done that, for what you want to do.

hey Bobg1, could you post me a couple links about the certification of set-up being used in installs for endusers to AP. i had it book marked before i reformatted and now i can't find anything.

thanks
