I just upgraded from 3.2.55 to 4.0.7 and all seemed to go well untell one of my Wireless IP users came in.

I have 15 3626's and all of them that are doing the same thing this morning.

I get no Voice Path, I can't hear a dial tone but they will dial. You can call the phones and they can awnser them but they can't hear you and you can hear them.

I took a new one out of the box and copied a config on to it from one that was not working and it works fine.

I have tried resetting the AVPServer and the Access Points, but same results.

I have also rebuilt the user and deleted the extention and let the Phone make a new one on restart.

Same results.

im not that familiar with the wifi phones, but my first hunch is possibly a different firmware is needed on your existing phones that your new one that works may already have?

I thought of that, I had pulled the Batterys out and replaced them thinking that it would get a update if it needed it but it is still not working.

Is there a way of checking on what firmware that they are using?

not sure...but the IPO 4.0.7 tech bulletin did not address the wifi phones including the 3626

i think your AVPP may need to be upgraded. there is a new firmware release available on avaya's website though the release notes don't indicate anything related to your problem.

also, IPO specific help here...

how do you have your IP extensions setup concerning Compression and packet size? if it is set to auto, i would try setting to G.711.

Assuming all things being equal and the only thing that changed is the upgrade this shouldn't be the problem as far as I can see but it something you may want to check.

I can see how there may be a compatibility issue with the AVPP and the latest release though....could just be a bug :(

Apperantly my Wireless phones are not doing the Firmware update like they need to do.

I have located everything but can't find a file called pd06ccc.bin

Does anyone know where I can locate a copy of this. Spectralink no longer has it avalible that I can find.

on this link there is the AVPP update

Maybe this AVPP update will have the update for the phone?

OK I got all the files and put them in place but still getting the same error.

Any ideas?

OK I have confirmed that it is a Firmware issue.

All the phones that are not working are 96.043, the ones that are have 96.045 and I’m trying to install 96.049.

For some reason they wont take the update.

Is there a way to force it or wipe out the old one so it has to use a new one?

These are all 3626’s

You should upgrade your svp server first. Within the svp server is an address field for TFTP server IP address. I use solarwinds and put the svp and phone firmware in its directory. Naturally manager is not running cause there can be only one...running tftp server.

Power cycle the svp server and if you are serial cabled into the svp server you will see the firmware upgrade take place. You can also wath the upgrade process through solarwinds.

You have to make sure that the tftp addys are entered into the phones before they will find the firmware.

Thanks, I did start up a TFTP server on a diffrent server and found the Issue.

I have renamed the sl?????.cfg file insted of making copys of it. I missed the part about leaving the original file in there also.
