Currently we have a user at a remote office on a 5610SW IP phone, with a lifter and a wireless headset.

This user (the CEO) wants to be able to dial numbers while walking around. Currently he has to walk back to his desk to dial another number.

Does anyone know what equipment i should look for?

Or am i going to have to get a wirless IP phone?

Thanks

You have answered your own question, a wireless IP phone is what you would need.

Convergence+

Or an analogue cheapo DECT handset that is twinned to his 5610 :)

amriddle - fail! - its a remote site.

although with a multitech analogue gateway, registered back to the IP office (you'll need an IP endpoint licence) you could then get a POTS dect working.

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Give him a mobile phone with a bluetooth headset :)

We already gave him 2 mobile phones, at&t and verizon.

I think the wireless ip phone is the best option for what he wants.

Why does he want another phone then ?

Well I dont think he gets very good cell service at his House (remote site). And i guess he wants to use the company phone system/extension for these calls.

Then your best shot is wait for release 5 and use a SIP wireless phone

Use phone manager pro and telecommuter mode tie it to a land line and give him the cordless feature that way.

You need an AVPP for that and is very expensive for just one phone

R5.0 will come in August

thanks teletechman.

so am i right in thinking i can hook this into the ipo as an ip endpoint, then plug an analogue device into it at the remote end?

You can Tom, also on R5 you can use the One-x A10 ATA but the programming in those looks like more work than the IP Office itself :)
