Hi there,

Got a desktop PC (WinXPsp2) connected to NTL Broadband, insalled a wireless PCI card in Ad Hoc mode with a static IP of 192.168.0.1 and setup ICS...

Got a laptop (WinXP) and insalled a wireless PCMCIA card in and gave it a static IP of 192.168.0.2, also Ad Hoc mode...

Both machines can 'see' each other and ping each other etc...

But, the laptop will not get to the Net?!?

You could save yourself a lot of trouble if you invest in a wireless router and run both machines thru that instead of trying to setup ICS and trying to run adhoc mode for the wireless , it would be BT modem---->wireless router and you would setup your nics for infrastructure . A "B" wireless router can be had for between 30 and 40 dollars .

Yeah could do that, but this is for a mate and they don't want a router. I know this way works coz I've seen it before, I also know that ICS is not the best solution to use...
