This is a tough one to solve, and I don't even think it's possible, but maybe somebody here has some good ideas:
I have a campus environment. In there, there is a NEAX 2400 ICS (I know, it's ICS, it's old ). There is a phone in an office which has a DID. Now, there is a person who walks around in this campus, but needs to answer the calls to this DID. Not only that, but if the caller asks for another worker, the person (who walks around and answered the call) needs to be able to transfer the call within the system, to another station.
So, forwarding the DID to a cell-phone is just half a solution, as you will not be able to transfer back into the switch.
Using wireless Dterm handset will not reach down 2 city blocks. The closest I can get is to upgrade to an IPX, and place Wifi access points to cover 15-20 buildings everywhere. That's not going to happen.
Anybody has some smart idea? Maybe some cell phone provider has some transfer capabilities? Or some completely different solution???
Thanks. Peter
