Wireless Extension Point

I have a wireless LAN setup using ESS. I was wondering if anyone had some thoughts on extending this through an area that's obstructed with thick brick walls. Ideally I was trying to find an Extension point that didn't have to be hardwired to the Access Point/ Router but rather could be plugged into an electrical outlet in another room, which would receive the signal to be boosted to the other end of the home. I have yet to find an extension point to do this or an alternative method. I really don't want to setup two LAN and configure the MACs to talk to each other like a point to point. Any ideal on products available or alternate methods?
