I get my internet through a wireless connection from a D-Link router. Now everytime I connect to it i also have another wireless connection coming from somehwere else. I could be using my computer at anytime and randomly it tryie to connect to this other connection. Is there a way to block this connection or to make my computer only connect to my router. Thanks in advance.

Read the manual, it's in there.
You have to set it to connect to selected devices only.

Let's say i don't have a manual. Howdo you set it to only connect to the one wireless connection.

Like I said, read the manual, or get it if you don't have it, try Google.
There are a zillion models out there, each with their own settings, so we cannot 'guess' you setup, let alone give you directions.
All we know is that you have 'some' model of D-Link router.
You do not give details about it, no info on the LAN-WiFi card, etc.
Please understand we cannot see what is on your table. If you don't provide every detail, we can't help.

If using the native connection services of XP, right click the notification tray icon, "Open Network Connections", right-click "Open Wireless Connections".

You create a new entry in the bottom box for a "Preferred" connection. You in addition use the "Advanced" buttom to specify that you only connect to uncheck "Automaticly connect to non-preferred networks."

Sorry, I am suffering from the results of a flue shot. More cogently:

Alot of WiFi cards need to have the Windows Zero-Config turned off , or they refuse to work properly.

And I just noticed your signature change.
I still want an original logo Tek-tips coffee mug.

The flying horse does nothing for me.

I agree with you, If possible (card compliance), I let Xp handle the driver and settings, that gives less complications.
Thos who insist on their own device settigns usually blame Microsoft for the problem, while it is them who do bot comply.
