Hi all,
I am facing a strange problem. I have been using wireless connection at my home for more than a year now. I use Netgear 802.11b router and netgear 802.11b card (MA401). Today, I bought a new laptop with internal intel 802.11b card and connected that too to the router and it was working fine. After sometime, I suddenly lost connection to the router from both of my laptops (I didn't make any configuration changes). Strangely, my roommate didn't have any problem and he could connect his computer to the internet through the wireless router.
The strange thing is that when I scan for available networks, it shows me my router. But nothing happens when I try to connect to it. Another strange thing is that I am able to connect to another network which is found in the scan (probably a neighbor's).
I am using WEP encryption in my nework. Both my laptops are running WinXP home edition.
I tried unplugging and plugging the router, but it didn't work. I also tried by removing the encryption, but it just doesn't connect!! I didn't see any point in updating the device driver for the cards since they are able to connect to other available networks. I am totally stumped by the problem. Please help me.
Thanks.
