Hello Everyone,

I'm stumped.. I have a machine on a wireless network using a dlink wireless router and a wireless pci card on a box running xp pro.

After letting the machine idle for a few hours, the connection appears to be connected according the windows wireless connections window. When a I try to use the internet, I don't have access. When I reconnect to the router I am unable to establish a connection and I need to reboot the machine in order to get it working again.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
TIA

try altering the following settings to none see how long it lasts :)

screen saver
screen off
standby
hibernate

Stand up wherever you are, go to the nearest window and yell as loud as you can, 'I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore.'

check and see if you have allowed this device to shutdown to conserve energy... its on by default.

First thing I would check is the DHCP lease time from the wireless router (if you're using DHCP instead of static).
