I am experiencing a problem with a new Zxyel wireless router and clients connecting to this router.

The device is a Zyxel P-660HW. One of the laptop's that can't connect is a IBM Thinkpad T43. It's using it's internal 800.11G card. It has Windows XP SP1. It can connect to the old wireless router.

The device is set-up pretty basically with 128 encryption WEP key. The thinkpad cannot connect, howwver it can see the SID but everytime I punch in the key it can't connect. The IBM wireless software says "Radio On, not associated". I have tried it with DHCP and with a static IP. I have tried connecting via the IBM wireless settings and windows wireless config, but neither work.

Other Windows XP machines can connect to the wireless router, and this would make me believe the device is working fine. I have tried changing channels but this hasn't worked. I have removed encryption but the Thinkpad still can't connect.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks

Try checking to see if there are any updated drivers for the machine. Don't just look for drivers for the wireless, as I have found that with internal adaptors, sometimes the chipset, or bios drivers effect connectivity as well.
