Wireless Connected but no internet access

Hello all
Until last Monday I could access internet at my home and also at school. The service at the school is not a secured one. Last Friday I couldn’t access internet at the school. The wireless icon in the tray says it is connected at 54 kbps, and the signal strength is excellent. After looking here and there, I noticed that the Internet Gateway is disabled at the school( in the control panel\network connections\). I tried to enable it and it gave me a message that connection failed. At home this Internet Gateway doesn’t even appear in the network connections. Can you please help me with what to do to access internet at the school?

The School network might have disabled their Gateway. Or are having a problem with their internet access or DHCP server not providing the correct gateway information.

If you are successfully connecting to the wireless network at home (with internet access), and at school, but at School there' no internet access its likely not an issue on your side but there's.

Is anyone else in the school faculty experiencing the same problem & is the school aware of it? As Vacunita said, if may very well be an issue with the school's system. It wouldn't be the first time I've seen or heard of somebody hacking into an unsecured wireless system.
