I have a wireless network at home. Lay out is Cable modem to Wireless router, wired to My PC (Win2K Pro), wireless to my laptop (Win XP Home). On network neighborhood, both computers can see each other but when I try to transfer files from one to the other, I'm ask for a user name and password. Where do I get the user name and password from? Also my printer is hardwired to my PC and when I tried to connecto my laptop to the printer wirelessly, I was also asked for a user name and password. What gives?

If at first you don't succeed, reboot!

In the Win2k machine right click on the printer and check the security tab, verify that everyone can print on the printer, do the same with the shared folders. Also check the share tab and permissions in the share. Win 2K has alot more security then XP home therefore you have to open up the 2k machine.

Thanks for the tip; I'll do that right now and give back the results.

If at first you don't succeed, reboot!
